History
Eastern Bible College is the result of the Revival Movement . It was established on March 17, 1974 with 23 dedicated young students from all over the Eastern Region. With the Holy Spirit given vision to train dedicated Christian workers to preach Christ in the Eastern Region under 10/40 windows, where many of the unreached group of people live, led to the conception of this college. With much prayer, the board of Directors, spearheaded by late Rev. Dr. TN Lotha who was an anointed revival preacher, took up the responsibility of building this college. The college started in a rented house at Burma Camp which belonged to Mr. D. Haralu who was a great source of blessing. In 1978 the college shifted to the new campus in bank colony acquired by Rev. Dr. T.N. Lotha. Eastern Bible College family is very grateful and greatly indebted to Rev. Dr. Mrs. Huldah Buntain and her beloved husband Rev. Dr. Daniel Mark Buntain & family, for their loving help in building up this college.
The main building ground-breaking was conducted by Rev. Dr. Daniel Mark Buntain in 1978 along with Rev. T.N. Lotha the Principal, Bishop Rev. K.L. Gupta, Mr. and Mrs. D. Haralu, Mrs. Kevichusa and team from Calcutta AG Mission.
The main building cornerstone was laid by the Principal Rev. T.N. Lotha on 24th May 1979.
The main building was inaugurated by Rev. Dr. Charles Greenaway (Eurasia Field Director) in 18th March 1980.
The Buntain Chapel was dedicated by Rev. Dr. Mrs. Huldah Buntain in 1990.
The college ministry is also very grateful to Eurasia Regional Director Rev. Jerry Parsley & family and Rev. Dr. David Grant & family and Rev. Jimmy Swaggart & family and national leaders namely Rev. Solomon H. Wasker and family, Bishop Rev. K.L. Gupta & family, Rev. Robin Paul & family, Rev. Dr. Ronald Shaw & family, Rev. Dr. Solomon Wang & family and many others for their love and investment in the college ministry. Through much encouragement received from these great men and women of God, God has enabled the college to train over 2000 Christian workers who are serving the Lord faithfully and fruitfully which has resulted in planting over 500 churches which is resulting in eternal blessing.
The college celebrated 50 jubilee years of ministry of God’s faithfulness in training dedicated mission workers who are faithfully and fruitfully serving God. The college is well recognised by government and churches. During the 50 years jubilee celebration the college received very encouraging messages from government and church leaders.
